Hello again, Well we have free wifi once again (in some truck stop)!
We had a good 2 days in Berlin with only 1 hiccup – a flat battery L. We got this sorted within 2 hours and we were back on the road J. We were going to do the bus tour before we set off for Prague. With the delay we had little time left & needed to keep the camper running, so we used some Kiwi ingenuity and drove around the tour route express style with Bryony hanging out the window snapping the sights! I [Vaughan] had my first 1 litre of beer in a handle glass last night, which was surprisingly manageable.

On the way into the Czech Republic we were pulled over by Highway control, who wanted to see our passports & papers... we wondered if it’d be our first adventure – but all went smoothly! We spent all day in Prague in 30+ degrees! We saw more tourists here than any other city so far! Besides that we found it refreshingly different, unique & entertaining. We stayed a couple of nights at a campsite that a couple had set up in their back yard – and all the neighbours were doing it too. They’d converted downstairs into showers/toilets etc, a little restaurant and put power lines down.

The Czech & Polish country side is stunning. We drove on some of the bumpiest roads we’ve ever driven... and that was the quickest route! We are enjoying Polish food and in the last week have tried Boar, Ostrich & Bison... gotta enjoy the local delights (of course Vaughan tells me each country is known for Chocolate & ice-cream – anyone ever heard of Polish chocolate?!)

Wroclaw (Poland) was somewhere we stopped cause it was on the way, but turned out to be quite a highlight. We discovered gnomes around the city and there’s some fantastic history from the country’s communist era associated. We ate a superb Polish meal for super cheap, then cycled home (our camper spot by the side of the river) and watched the sunset.

Our drive to Warsaw, Poland’s capital had better roads, but was still quite slow as it took us through all the towns (much like state highway 1 in NZ). We’ve been listening to a John Grisham novel while driving. We have grown to love & appreciate tom tom – without him we would have definitely been lost many a time by now!

Warsaw itself was quite contrasted and has some fascinating history. We visited our first museum, about the Warsaw Rising, which was impressively presented.

We're now looking forward to exploring a bit through the Baltic states!
